Welcome to ACLGIM
The Association of Chiefs and Leaders of General Internal Medicine (ACLGIM) provides a professional home for general internists who are leaders, or who aspire to become leaders, within academic and/or clinical medicine.
Originally founded as the Association of Chiefs in General Internal Medicine (ACGIM), leadership later recognized the parallels between, and the common interest areas of, the position of Division Chief and other key leaders of GIM within an organization. With the inclusion of the “L” (for leader), ACLGIM has not only grown in size, but in diversity of experience, expertise, and energy.
ACLGIM members include division and section chiefs, program directors, directors of research and educational programs as well as hospital, health system, policy and governmental leaders. Benefits of ACLGIM membership include networking, personal growth as a leader, and opportunities to foster the growth of future leaders.
I have benefited tremendously from my involvement with ACLGIM over the past 7 years. This organization has guided my development as a research leader and given me the information and tools that I need to lead effectively in a rapidly changing academic and health care landscape.
